Selena Gomez is celebrating her boyfriend Benny Blanco’s new cookbook, Open Wide, in her April 30 Instagram post, but I, personally, am just here to celebrate the polka-dot minidress. It’s too early to tell if this marks a return of the pinup-girl style trend of the early 2010s but, you know, fingers crossed.

Gomez posted three snapshots of herself celebrating Blanco’s achievement, complete with a picture of herself pretending to eat the book itself (unless, of course it’s really a cake). For the occasion Gomez wore a short black dress with a white polka-dot pattern, a vintage-style halter neck, and gold buttons down the front. She styled the retro ’fit with sheer black tights, gold hoops, and her go-to slicked back bun. And what pin-up girl ensemble would be complete without a bright red lip?

“So proud of @itsbennyblanco,” Gomez wrote in the caption. “Open Wide is out now!!” In the comments, Blanco responded, “life is better when i’m w u.”

Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco reportedly started dating around June of 2024, making their relationship nearly a year old. In a Wall Street Journal interview, Blanco said he was the last one to know that he was in love with Gomez. “It’s crazy how your partner could just be sitting there the whole time, right in front of your eyes, and you don’t even notice, and then you have that Clueless moment where you’re like, Wait, I’m in love,” he said.
