An upcoming dance party at Rose Music Hall promises to celebrate "queer joy" while spinning some of the most dynamic artists in rock, pop and alternative.

At a moment which abides a number of themed, touring dance parties, Sapphic Factory: A Modern Queer Joy Dance Party arrives in different cities each weekend. The May 10 date at Rose will follow upcoming shows in Omaha and St. Louis.

"come dance and be free to the music of muna, fletcher, phoebe bridgers, boygenius, kim petras, marina, elio, ashnikko, girl in red, tegan and sara, and more," the Sapphic Factory website beckons.

Bridgers and Boygenius, the band she anchors with Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker, are one of the most inventive, emotionally affecting bands on the current modern rock scene; Muna, once set to the play now-defunct Treeline Music Fest, is a pop powerhouse; Tegan and Sara have blazed many musical paths; and Girl in Red aka Norwegian artist Marie Ulven Ringheim is one of the "it" names of our musical moment.

Muna opens for Taylor Swift during the first night of the Cincinnati stop of the Eras Tour at Paycor Stadium in downtown Cincinnati on Friday, June 30, 2023.

The other aforementioned artists both represent and bridge distinct genres.

Columbia has welcomed similar, themed dance parties in recent months, including those revolving around the music of Taylor Swift and Beyonce.

Sapphic Factory touts its partnership with Plus1, a nonprofit that connects artists, companies and social-justice initiatives. Through their collaboration, $1 from every tickets goes to support the work of the LGBT National Help Center.

Tickets for the May 10 event are $16-$24. Visit https://rosemusichall.com/ for more details.
