Sandra Oh Perfectly Reprises Her “Princess Diaries” Role — and Reenacts Scene with Anne Hathaway

Oh introduced Anne Hathaway on 'The Kelly Clarkson Show' by reenacting one of her most famous scenes in the 2001 coming-of-age comedy

You can take Sandra Oh out of Genovia, but she'll always be there in her heart!

The actress reprised her Princess Diaries role of Vice Principal Geraldine Gupta on The Kelly Clarkson Show Tuesday, April 30, to introduce guest Anne Hathaway, who played Princess Mia Thermopolis in the original film and its sequel.

Oh, 52, even reenacted what is arguably her own most famous scene in The Princess Diaries, when she picks up the phone while seated at a desk and says into the receiver, "Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm," before hanging up and telling the room, "The queen is coming."

And while the royal in question in the movie is Julie Andrews' Clarisse Renaldi, on the show, Oh's words prompted the introduction of Hathaway, 41, who emerged onto the stage in a bright-yellow pantsuit and sporting her dazzling smile.

Hathaway played Mia in the first Princess Diaries movie that was released back in 2001, before reprising the role for 2004's The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement.

She costarred with Andrews, 88, who played her grandmother Queen Clarisse Renaldi in both the original movie, which follows Mia's journey after learning that she is the princess of Genovia, and its sequel.

While speaking to TODAY.com in March, Andrews said when asked about a possible third Princess Diaries movie, "It’s quite a long time now since the two Diaries were done, and I’m not sure.

"But sometimes it’s best to leave a good thing alone. I don’t like it when people milk and milk and milk the subject, you know, 'til it’s dead," the Oscar winner added.

"There was dialogue about it," Andrews told the outlet, adding, "nothing had been realized. And I think I may be wrong, but I think it’s been shelved now. I can’t be sure."

However, she added at the time of a potential additional film, "I’d be very happy if we did do another one. But I don’t expect to."

While speaking to V Magazine for an interview published April 22, Hathaway didn't have a lot to say about a possible third installment, but she did tell the outlet, “We’re in a good place.”

“That’s all I can say. There’s nothing to announce yet. But we’re in a good place,” she added.
