Sandra Bullock, Jennifer Aniston and more stars showed up to support pal Sarah Paulson on Broadway.

The cast of Appropriate — including Paulson, Corey Stoll, Ella Beatty, Natalie Gold, Michael Esper and Graham Campbell – posed backstage with Bullock, Bullock's son Louis, Aniston, Jason Bateman and his wife Amanda Anka, Edward Norton and his wife Shauna Robertson, and Sean Hayes and his husband Scott Icenogle.

Icenogle shared the photo to Instagram. "Had the pleasure of seeing Sarah Paulson, Corey Stoll and the incredible cast of Appropriate on Broadway," he wrote. "Sarah and the cast gave absolutely stunning performances supported by a mesmerizingly gorgeous production. Go, go, go see this show, if you can."

Appropriate's official Instagram page reshared the group photo and wrote, "Spotted at the Belasco ✨ Thank you for joining us at #AppropriateBway!"

A source tells PEOPLE the famous friends all came as a group to see the hit show on Friday, March 29 and sat in the audience together. Afterward, they went backstage and spent “a good half hour” hanging with Paulson and the cast. They all left as a group too.

Spirits were high and praise was loud for the performances, according to the source. Hayes was also seen hugging stagehands at the Belasco Theatre, where the 2023 play Good Night, Oscar (for which he won a Tony Award) also had its run

Another source added to PEOPLE, "Everyone had a great time and the food was amazing."

Bullock shared during an interview with PEOPLE in 2018 that they instantly clicked. “We connected when we did Ocean’s, it just felt like there was a shorthand that was there by the time that we met for the first time,” Bullock said. “I don’t know why that is, it just is.”

Paulson praised the actress for her endless capacity for kindness off camera, telling PEOPLE at the time, “I think she’s one of the most moving actresses of anybody that’s ever been on screen. Not only does she make you laugh uproariously but she can literally crack your heart open with one look, because she’s a truth teller as a performer.”

Appropriate is penned by two-time Pulitzer prize finalist Branden Jacobs-Jenkins and directed by Lila Neugebauer. The play tells the story of a trio of siblings (Pauslon, Stoll and Esper) who return to their father's Arkansas house after his death to deal with the remains of his estate. But when mysterious objects are discovered among the clutter, suddenly, long-hidden secrets and buried resentments surface as the family is forced to face the ghosts of their past.

After opened at the Hayes Theater in December to rave reviews and sold-out houses — with the family drama striking comparisons to Tony-winning pieces like August: Osage County and The HumansAppropriate transferred to the Belasco Theater in late March for an additional 13-week limited engagement. The Second Stage Theater production will play through June 23.

Tickets for Appropriate are available on their website.
