Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman call an 'official truce' in their hilarious, faux feud

Ryan Reynolds enjoys trolling people on Twitter, and he especially relishes a good swipe at Hugh Jackman.

The actors play Marvel superheroes, Deadpool and Wolverine, respectively, on the screen, and, as Reynolds has said, he wants Jackman to headline a superhero movie with him. The problem is that after playing the character in nine movies over 17 years, Jackman announced that he was moving on from the role. He doesn’t appear to have changed his mind.

And yet, on Thursday, the actors announced that they’ve ended their so-called rivalry, and they must truly mean it. Reynolds and Jackman agreed to do ads for each other’s companies.

Still, they, or at least we, had some fun times watching the two take jabs at each other over the internet.

Reynolds delivered a hilarious impression of the Aussie actor in November 2015.

When Reynolds received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in December 2016, it was Jackman doing the teasing.

They’ve pretty much taken every opportunity to razz each other.

Just last month, Jackman got revenge on Reynolds by inviting him to a sweater party as a holiday prank.

In real life, of course, the men are buds. Jackman has said that he loves Reynolds, and Reynolds has gushed over Jackman.

“I love Hugh Jackman, I think he’s one of the kindest, nicest people on the planet,” Reynolds said — with a straight face! — in a May 2018 interview with Entertainment Weekly. “He’s the sweetest man you’ll ever meet and, at the same time, I’m kind of upset that he’s hung up the claws for Wolverine. I feel like I missed my window to have Deadpool and Wolverine working together.”

Reynolds recognized that he and Jackman have “great chemistry.”

“And I love goofing around with him and playing with him. I would love to see that someday. So really, it’s just a long-term hazing campaign that’s only gonna get worse until he says yes.”

It looks Reynolds’s feelings might have changed, and he might have finally accepted Jackman’s decision.

In any case, he’s moved on to trolling Chris Hemsworth.
