Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal Play Holiday Prank on Ryan Reynolds

Ryan Reynolds may play a superhero on the big screen, but it’s clear that his IRL super power is his prank skills. In fact, the act of trolling seems to be so commonplace in Ryan’s life that it’s a common theme in his marriage to Blake Lively, and the two actors are known for their hilarious jokes that often play out on Instagram.

It seems as though Ryan got a taste of his own medicine this holiday season, thanks to his friends and fellow actors Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal. In an Instagram photo posted on Friday, December 21, Ryan can be seen wearing an “ugly” holiday sweater featuring green and red color block panels and a frilly gold bow in the center, making him look like a perfectly wrapped present. You might think Ryan was attending an ugly sweater party…until you see that Hugh and Jake are dressed in regular clothes.

“These f*cking *holes said it was a sweater party,” the caption reads. In the next picture in the series, Hugh and Jake are exchanging a high five in front of a dismayed Ryan.

As noted by Elite Daily, what was already pretty funny took an even more hilarious turn when some Twitter users decided to transform the prank into a solidly relatable meme. Others couldn’t help but make Legally Blonde references, as the situation was not a far cry from the whole “Elle Woods shows up in a bunny costume” scene.

We can only assume that the joke was all in good fun, and, given how many Instagram-worthy pranks Ryan has pulled off, it was only a matter of time before he became a “victim” to his own game. That said, Hugh and Jake better watch out…if Ryan decides to get revenge, it’ll likely be a prank to end all pranks.
