Ryan Gosling is hosting Saturday Night Live on April 13 and is seemingly nervous about meeting musical guest Chris Stapleton.
In a preview for this week’s episode of the NBC sketch show, Gosling is seen practicing how he will introduce himself to Stapleton. Gosling is sporting a Stapleton t-shirt and holding the singer’s headshot while knocking on Stapleton’s room at Studio 8H.

“Mr. Stapleton, big fan, love your music,” Gosling says in the preview. “Nah, it’s stupid.”
Gosling tries another line, saying, “Yo Chris! One for the gram?” as he takes out his mobile device to take a selfie with the singer.
The Barbie actor finally gets the courage to open Stapleton’s room. Gosling sees Stapleton’s cowboy hat and can’t resist the temptation to sport it and take on his persona.
Saturday’s episode of SNL will mark the third time Gosling takes the show’s reins, inching closer to the five-times club.
Gosling crashed the show last weekend when Kristen Wiig guest-hosted and she celebrated her fifth time at the helm of the show. During the monologue, the actor had the honor of giving Wiig her five-timers club jacket.
SNL has had a variety of hosts this season, including former cast members Kate McKinnon and Pete Davidson, Dune: Part Two actors Timothée Chalamet and Josh Brolin, and Poor Things stars Emma Stone and Ramy Youssef. Madame Web stars Sydney Sweeney and Dakota Johnson also took their turns hosting the late-night comedy. Fired cast member Shane Gillis was also a guest host earlier this year.
