Rosie Huntington-Whiteley Channels the Sheer Trend in Corseted Little Black Dress and Lingerie at Dolce & Gabbana 40th Anniversary Party

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley brought the sheer trend to Dolce & Gabbana’s 40th anniversary party in Milan on Saturday.

The supermodel and former Victoria’s Secret Angel opted for a corseted black dress by the Italian label, which she wore over a matching lingerie set and garter belt. Huntington-Whiteley added on thigh-high stockings, open-toe pumps and a black clutch, completing her look with gold jewelry.

After sheer fabrics dominated the runways of Rick Owens, Chanel and LaQuan Smith in 2023, the celebrity set followed suit on the red carpet, donning their best see-through styles at film premieres and high-profile parties, including the Met Gala.

This year, the barely-there trend is back in style, with stars favoring sheer looks at recent award shows like the Emmys and the iHeartRadio Music Awards.

Last month, WWD broke the news that Huntington-Whiteley is joining a new firm known as The Equity Studio, founded by investor Anna Sweeting, which plans to offer funding and strategic advice to entrepreneur-led, consumer-centric businesses.

“The landscape is changing so much, and these entrepreneurs need capital, but they also need [advice] from people who are navigating the landscape in real time. We’re positioned to help them refine their existing strengths, and to continue driving market share. It will be a magical combination when we can invest, and also guide them on the journey,” Sweeting told WWD.

Huntington-Whiteley described Sweeting as “in a league of her own when it comes to identifying iconic brands early and supporting them, both from a capital perspective and as a high-impact strategic partner. We couldn’t be more aligned in our vision for the modern consumer landscape, and for creating timeless value and lasting impact. I really feel the moment is now to open up our capital resources and communities to accelerate incredible entrepreneurs.”
