Reese Witherspoon Just Chopped Off Her Hair & She Looks Exactly Like She Did in 'Cruel Intentions'

As the seasons change, it’s the perfect time of year to debut a new look, and many celebs have been doing just that. Reese Witherspoon revealed a throwback Cruel Intentions haircut, and we’re seriously obsessed with how much she looks like her 1999 character. Witherspoon had been embracing her long, blond locks lately — it’s the style her Big Little Lies and Morning Show characters both wear, and it may be that Witherspoon’s been wanting to make this chop for a while but hasn’t had the option. In any case, it’s here now — and it’s fabulous.

Witherspoon was first spotted with the new haircut this week, running errands in Los Angeles. The chin-length bob immediately reminds us of Annette Hargrove, who Witherspoon played in Cruel Intentions at age 23, opposite ex-husband Ryan Phillippe (they started dating a year before filming together). While Witherspoon was already well into her career at that point, Cruel Intentions‘ massive success definitely helped Witherspoon become a household name, and we’re loving the chance to reminisce about this ’90s classic.

This isn’t the first time that a throwback pic of Witherspoon has had us seeing double. We’ve talked about how much 20-year-old daughter Ava Phillippe looks like young Witherspoon — but seeing the actress with her new hair, Phillippe has serious competition for who looks more like 20-year-old Witherspoon.
