Rebel Moon Part 2 Contains Easter Eggs Fans Haven’t Found Yet

There are Easter eggs hidden in Rebel Moon - Part 2: The Scargiver, and viewers have yet to find them.

That’s according to the film’s VFX Supervisor Marcus Taormina, who teased the existence of a few secret details in the Netflix sci-fi blockbuster.

“You know there's an Easter egg of [director] Zack [Synder] two times in the movie,” Taormina tells Men’s Journal. “That's all I'll say. But it's like when we can, when I see an opportunity, aside from Easter eggs, when I see an opportunity to make something cool, I'll say, ‘hey, I'm thinking this, does it fit in line with your ideas and your story and the intention of the movie’. And usually he's like, ‘yeah, go at it, go go make some cool stuff.’”

We already know Rebel Moon takes place in the same universe as Army of the Dead. However, the Easter egg relates to an earlier Synder release. “Well, it is to the previous films, but a previous film that I worked on with him and he was a camera operator in that film,” he says. “Just, I can't tell you where it's in the third act, but it's. It's kind of hidden in there. It's a fun little little piece that I don't think a lot of people are going to catch.”

It’s not the only Easter egg Taormina teased. He also admitted hiding one character in the background of a few scenes. That character is Jimmy, a sentient machine played by Anthony Hopkins, who debuted in Rebel Moon - Part 1: A Child of Fire.

“There's a couple shots where I get all the way down and shown the final shot and I go, ‘oh, by the way, Jimmy's up there.’ Like we hid Jimmy in places…just to just to add that little extra bit of of his character and that detail. But there's two other Jimmy shots, ‘Easter eggs’ if you will. He's in there.”
