Zack Snyder says they’ve already started working on a potential Rebel Moon 3.

Speaking with Forbes, Snyder was asked where the future of Rebel Moon might be headed and if a third movie was in the works.

“We have definitely been working on a Part Three, as far as the story goes,” Snyder confirmed. “We definitely know where we’re all headed – we’ve known that for quite a while, to be honest. So yeah, I’m excited to make some more Rebel Moon movies – that would be fun.”

The Rebel Moon director’s cuts will likely be released in August

Snyder also confirmed that the director’s cuts of Rebel Moon — Part One: A Child of Fire and Rebel Moon — Part Two: The Scargiver will each be about three hours long. He noted that a firm release date hasn’t yet been set for the director’s cuts; however, he guessed they will be added to Netflix sometime in August.

“You can’t underestimate that immersive feeling that you would get going all the way through the two movies,” Snyder said. “With the director’s cuts, that’s just going to be more intense because of the additional scenes and the sort of coloring in the corners of the world in the way that we’re able to do, frankly, with more scenes and more time.”

Rebel Moon — Part Two: The Scargiver is set to release on Netflix on April 19, 2024. The film stars Sofia Boutella, Djimon Hounsou, Ed Skrein, Michiel Huisman, Doona Bae, Ray Fisher, Staz Nair, Fra Fre, and Anthony Hopkins as the voice of Jimmy.

“Rebel Moon — Part Two: The Scargiver continues the epic saga of Kora and the surviving warriors as they prepare to sacrifice everything, fighting alongside the brave people of Veldt, to defend a once peaceful village, a newfound homeland for those who have lost their own in the fight against the Motherworld,” the official synopsis reads. “On the eve of their battle the warriors must face the truths of their own pasts, each revealing why they fight. As the full force of the Realm bears down on the burgeoning rebellion, unbreakable bonds are forged, heroes emerge, and legends are made.”

Rebel Moon — Part One: A Child of Fire, meanwhile, is currently streaming on Netflix.
