Alan Ritchson is the new heartthrob of Prime Video with the success of his show Reacher. Though his character Jack Reacher is a bit rough and tumble, Ritchson himself, while still extremely fit, has a softer side.

The 41-year-old actor recently posted a video on Instagram showing off his impressive vocal range with the song "Weak" by SWV, which shocked many fans. Of course, Jack Reacher isn't known to break out into song, so his vocal strengths were unknown to many fans up until this point.

Fans joked about the departure from his on-screen persona and how the new skill makes him even more desirable. "Imagine this man beating the brakes off you jack reacher style and start serenading you in cursive falsetto while you lose consciousness 💀💀💀😭😭😭😭😭," "Well crap, I just saw my wife liked this video and now I'm headed to the gym then singing lessons....." and "of COURSE you can sing. I quit. 😭," commenters joked.

One fan's comment mirrors the larger internet discussion that erupted after this video was posted: "People forgetting that Alan was on American Idol the same season with Fantasia and Jennifer Hudson." Alan Ritchson was in fact on Season 3 of American Idol, and he even made it to Hollywood. A fan posted his American Idol audition of X (formerly Twitter) after the discussion of Ritchson's musical past broke out on the platform.

Judge Paula Abdul took a special liking to Ritchson during the audition process. "There was this one guy in Atlanta, his name was Alan Ritchson, and he’s totally hot,” Abdul says in the clip. Simon Cowell and Randy Jackson even left the room so that Abdul could have a private show. Later in his career, Ritchson admitted that his time of American Idol is what encouraged him to pursue acting. "I made it to the second round in Los Angeles. Even though I was cut, I was enamored of the passion people had there for their art. I decided to stay, and I landed TV commercials and auditions," Ritchson said in an interview with the Wall Street Journal.

Whether you've been an Alan Ritchson fans since his American Idol days or just discovered him on Reacher, now you know that he can definitely sing. Now, if only we could convince Reacher writers to they show off Ritchson's not-so hidden signing talent!
