Rapper Post Malone turns to Twitter with a question that has plagued humanity for years: Are meatballs fruit?
OK, so maybe no one except Post Malone, a Grammy-nominated artist, has ever had to ask if a meatball is a fruit — but let’s give the rapper a little credit. Often, meatballs are covered in a tomato-based sauce, are they not? And what is a tomato? Technically, a fruit.
And even Congress has tried to classify the tomato sauce on pizza as a vegetable for school lunches, so Post Malone can’t be that far off, right?
The “Rockstar” singer took to Twitter to ask, simply, “is meatball an fruit.”

While some purists would say that a meatball is, in fact, not a fruit, because it has “meat” in its name and “ball” as its shape, there could be an argument to make here.
From a full blooded Italian . Yes

Perhaps Post Malone, whose ancestors, according to Wikipedia, include some Italians, has grown accustomed to the belief that the ball is life — more specifically, the meatball is life.
In response, while there was some support for the theory that “meatballs are fruit,” plenty of other Twitter users rejected the idea, and many more users asked if Post was OK.

Bon Appétit took the time to chime in with its simple answer.

According to the American Heart Association, we should be eating a variety of colors and types of fruit every day, ideally four to five servings. Sadly, meatballs just won’t do.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, Post.
