Prince and Vacation Collaborate on 1992 Tennis-Inspired Capsule

Iconic tennis brand Prince and sunscreen brand Vacation have teamed up to introduce a limited-run capsule in honor of a “1992 Annual Interoffice Tennis Championship” – a completely fictitious story paired with a completely real commemorative collection.

The fictional story takes place in Miami, Florida on August 28, 1992 when Prince and Vacation held their seventh Annual Interoffice Tennis Championships. A Vacation employee worked as a ball boy for the tournament and did a pretty poor job at missing most, if not all, retrievals. Witnessing the ball boy’s struggle, a defending Prince champion offered him a homemade string wax; an ad-hoc solution to aid his traction. As the tournament wore on and the heat rose throughout the day, the ball boy applied his sunscreen with his newly en-waxed hand, eventually discovering the key to water-resistant sunscreen.

Although the 1992 event itself may be completely made up to support the collaboration, the product lineup is nostalgic and canny for fashion and olfactory lovers alike, instantly transporting you back to courtside.
