More from Variety

In “Costiera” – which started shooting in Italy in late February and is expected to wrap at the end of May – Williams is playing an Italian-American former Marine named Daniel De Luca, who is a problem solver in one of the most exclusive hotels in the world in the picturesque Amalfi Coast town of Positano. Besides dealing with the hotel’s wealthy guests’ Daniel, who is known as DD, is also on the trail of Alice, one of the owner’s daughters, who has been recently kidnapped. Aside from that storyline, DD in each episode basically solves a case that involves the announced ensemble cast.

Lux Vide CEO Bernabei is the creator of this high-end series written by Elena Bucaccio, Matthew Parkhill and Francesco Arlanch. Fremantle-owned Lux is the company behind shows such as “Medici” and financial thriller “Devils” that have been widely sold around the world. Williams is also acting as a producer on “Costiera” that is clearly being made for global market. Under a previously announced innovative deal structure, Fremantle is handling global sales on “Costiera” in all territories outside of Italy, France, Spain and Portugal, where Amazon is holding on to full exclusive rights.
