Director Nag Ashwin has been teasing heavy VFX work in the Prabhas starrer, along with a unique storyline. Amid the reports of the movie’s possible postponement, 123telugu.com has alleged that Amazon Prime Video has secured the movie’s OTT rights.
The report claims that Prime Video has bagged the streaming rights of Kalki 2898 AD for a whopping $18 million. However, the report shows that the OTT giant has only earned rights for the Southern languages. Details about the movie’s Hindi version’s digital rights are not yet. The makers must have already begun filling their pockets if the report is accurate.
Kalki 2898 AD boasts an ensemble cast apart from Prabhas. Bollywood diva Deepika Padukone is playing the leading lady, while Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan have crucial roles. Disha Patani also has a supporting role in the movie. Moreover, the film is expected to have cameo appearances from several actors and actresses, including Vijay Deverakonda and Mrunal Thakur. However, these cameos have not been confirmed yet. May 9, 2024, has been locked as Kalki 2898 AD’s theatrical release date.
On the work front, Prabhas has several projects lined up in his kitty. He will be seen playing a cop in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit. He will also star in Salaar 2 and The Raja Saab.
