The "Powerpuff Girls" Are Getting a Fourth Member

For those of you who don't keep on top of children's animation, your forever animated faves the Powerpuff Girls got the reboot treatment in 2016. Which is fine! Heck, it's great that these feisty, fierce, and compassionate little ladies can influence another generation of kids (and uh, some adults too). But it's hard not to feel attached to the sources of your childhood nostalgia, so prepare yourself.

Because the new Powerpuff Girls is adding a fourth Powerpuff Girl to the squad. A new Powerpuff Girl. In 2017. While Professor X's original recipe called for sugar, spice, and everything nice, apparently anything goes when it comes to adding more interest in a crowded media landscape.

Naturally, Cartoon Network doesn't feel so strongly about the three-girl squad format, because it announced the news with aplomb:
