Lord Pitbull has officially joined the ton. Last week, Netflix premiered the first four episodes from Bridgerton‘s highly-anticipated third season, which centers its plot around Colin Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington. Their slow-burning, friends-to-lovers romance reaches a heated point in the back of a carriage during that fourth episode — and the pivotal moment is soundtracked by an orchestral version of Pitbull‘s 2011 hit single “Give Me Everything.”

“This again shows the world how music is the international language that transcends over boundaries more so how a hit song can remain timeless,” Pitbull wrote on Instagram, sharing a clip of the scene in which Colin confesses his feelings for Penelope. In the comment section, the official Bridgerton account added: “This author would most certainly agree with Lord Worldwide… Music speaks when words cannot.”

Last week, Netflix Tudum shared insight on the song selection from music supervisor Justin Kamps. “I think everyone was a little bit shocked that they were so in love with this Pitbull song cover for this sequence, of all things,” he said. “But the song is amazing, and it has this great build to it, and that’s what the scene really needed. It needed this anticipation and then an explosion into the main chorus of the song as we see what’s happening on-screen.”

Kamps added: “It almost leans further into a pop sound, slightly, just because the original song is such a banger pop track. It’s an explosion of emotions for these two characters that has finally boiled over into this moment, and I feel like the song really reflects that. It’s just like, ‘This is it. Give me everything. Here we go. Let’s do this.’ And I feel like it’s going to give fans and everyone who’s been waiting for this such a cathartic release.”

Composer Archer Marsh’s orchestral re-working of the song — which in its original iteration features Ne-Yo, Afrojack, and Nayer — adds an air of romance that isn’t necessarily reflected in Pitbull’s original declaration of: “Reach for the stars/And if you don’t grab them/At least you’ll fall on top of the world/Think about it, ’cause if you slip/I’m gon’ fall on top of your girl.”

The first set of episodes from Bridgerton season three also features orchestra covers of Gayle’s “ABCDEFU,” BTS’ “Dynamite,” Nick Jonas’ “Jealous,” Sia’s “Cheap Thrills,” Billie Eilish’s “Happier Than Ever,” and Taylor Swift’s “Snow on the Beach.”

The next set of episodes will arrive on June 13.
