FOND DU LAC — The 43rd annual Pops Concert will bring the height of jazz music to Fond du Lac.

Fond du Lac Symphonic Band will present "The Golden Age of Jazz" at 7 p.m. April 19 at the Fond du Lac High School Performing Arts Center, 801 Campus Drive.

Under the direction of Evan Chancellor, the concert will include Vaughn Williams's 1939 "Flourish for Winds," two marches by Karl King and the song "Serenade" from the 1924 operetta "The Student Prince" by Sigmund Romberg, as well as classic medleys from Duke Ellington and Benny Goodman.

Much of the program pays homage to the works of George Gershwin, including "Oh Lady Be Good," led by associate conductor Jill Koerwitz.

Gershwin's "Piano Concerto in F," arranged by Stephen Bulla, will feature guest pianist Petronel Malan, an internationally-acclaimed recitalist, orchestral soloist and chamber musician.
