Paulina Porizkova shares photo of Ric Ocasek's final resting place: 'Love never dies'

Paulina Porizkova has been painstakingly documenting her grief since her estranged husband, rocker Ric Ocasek of the Cars, died on Sept. 15 at age 75.

The supermodel — who has called the music legend’s death “the end of my world as I knew it” and was the person who first discovered that he’d “peacefully passed on” while resting at his Manhattan home — has shared a photo of Ocasek’s final resting place. Though the 54-year-old didn’t divulge the location of the cemetery where the singer is buried, she did share that the former couple’s two sons, Jonathan and Oliver, are designing a grave marker as a “fitting tribute to the father they adored.”

Until then, a rather large mushroom displaced from the family home is serving as a temporary tombstone. Porizkova’s photo shows what appears to be her younger son, 21-year-old Oliver, paying his respects. She added the hashtag #loveneverdies.

Porizkova’s post comes a day after she asked her Instagram followers for their insight into what she should share online amid “so much destruction and pain.” Many commenters responded that they appreciated her reflections on aging and grief, as well as snapshots from her everyday life.

Porizkova and Ocasek, who has four other sons from previous relationships, were married in 1989. They separated in 2017, but were still legally married and reportedly on amicable terms at the time of his death. However, Ocasek signed a new will cutting out his estranged wife just weeks before his death from heart disease. In it, he reportedly said that the Czech-born beauty had “abandoned me.” Porizkova has since disputed that he felt that way and is seeking to claim her share of the estate.
