Police and paramedics were called to the Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood on Wednesday night in response to an alleged altercation between Britney Spears and her boyfriend Paul Soliz, according to TMZ.
Earlier in the evening, a woman matching Spears’ description allegedly harassed and threatened employees and guests of the hotel, prompting an initial visit from police at around 10:30 p.m. local time. However, officers reportedly left the scene after finding no signs of trouble.
Officers returned two hours later, this time with paramedics in tow, following reports of a disturbance in Spears’ hotel suite. TMZ reports that there was a physical altercation that may have left Spears with an injury to her leg, and she was screaming in the hallway of her suite. Paramedics reportedly made contact with the singer, but she ultimately left the scene with her security (as documented by TMZ’s photographer).
Prior to TMZ going public with the story, Spears posted a cryptic message to Instagram (that has since been deleted) saying: “Most of the pics are body doubles and I think most know that !!! I would like respect at this time for people to understand I am getting stronger everyday !!! Truth sucks so can someone teach me how to lie???”
Spears added: “Goddesses out there, I’m reaching my higher power and furthermore, I hope you guys are too !!! I need a new toothbrush right now!!! PS … I need an espresso. !!! PSS … Not sure why I feel the need to share this … I guess I’m just a girl and I’m on my period so I’m bitchy … s**t !!!””
Update: Spears has shared a new post to Instagram that includes regurgitates some of her previous comments, while also providing her own version of last night’s events. Specifically, she says she “twisted my ankle last night and paramedics showed up at my door illegally. They never came in my room but I felt completely harassed.” Spears then closed her message by saying she is “moving to Boston.”
