These Palm Beach restaurants offer deals on favorites for happy hour

High-quality sushi, fresh oysters and tempting pasta dishes are just a few reasons why happy hour in Palm Beach — with its singular ambiance — is different than many other places.

And it’s not just the nice-priced happy-hour food worthy of kudos in a town where dining out can otherwise be pricey.

Pair it all with upper-scale two-for-one wines-by-the-glass, say, or signature cocktails. Score a good beer for five bucks.

Depending on where you go, happy hour on the island can be three hours or more each day, providing an ample window to enjoy it all (note: deals don’t translate to takeout/to-go orders).

Follow dress codes and try these great happy hour options in Palm Beach:

Available from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays, happy hour takes place in Bice’s chic bar area, a fine vantage point for people-watching as glam guests enter the Via Bice doors.

House wines and Champagne are $9 and $13, respectively; select beers are $6; and mixed drinks and martinis (excluding top-shelf) are $12 and $14, respectively.

Many Bice food favorites are offered at special prices — from antipasti to salads, pastas and more.

Whether you sit on the sidewalk-side terrace or inside at the bar, say, the daily 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. happy hour here features good drinks and food, right down to Cucina’s popular “griddler” cheeseburger with fries.

Look for select wines by the glass or bottle for half price, plus $10 spirits, such as Casamigos Blanco Tequila, Toto’s Vodka, Bacardi Rum and Redemption Rye.

Step into the lipstick red-and-black interior and look for a seat at the bar or outside on the terrace because those are the spots where happy hour deals are offered at this pan-Asian hot spot.

Look for half off sushi and cocktails from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. and seating is on a first-come first-serve basis (reservations aren’t available for happy hour).

Tuna, salmon, shrimp, wahoo, eel or hamachi sushi by the piece normally are $10 each, but they’re $5 each at happy hour.

Among the half-priced cocktails, try one of Echo’s favorites, which start at around $10 at happy hour. There’s the Buddha's Fizz, for instance, with Absolut Grapefruit Vodka, fresh lime and cranberry juices and a Champagne floater, and the Green Lotus with “sour vide” Fuji apple vodka, green grapes and fresh lime juice.

Henry’s Palm Beach

The Bar at Henry's Palm Beach

Happy hour is called social hour at Henry’s. Isn’t that how the restaurant and bar’s namesake — Palm Beach Gilded Age tycoon and developer Henry Flagler — would have wanted it?

From 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays at the bar only, enjoy half-priced cocktails, beer and wine, plus half off food items denoted as “Must Haves” on the menu.

No, stone crab claws, which are among the must haves, are not half off during social hour, but other items, normally priced between $18 and $35, are indeed.

Think Ahi tuna cones served with wasabi cream, truffle mac and cheese, “pigs” in a Pretzel-dough blanket (served with Pilsner cheese fondue), meatballs marsala with roasted mushrooms and fonduta; and southern-style onion rings with horseradish ranch dipping sauce.

Happy hour at this contemporary steakhouse is 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. daily with food and drink items priced from $7 to $18. (Seafood galore is available as well.)

Martini-lovers tend to gravitate toward the Lychee Martini ($8) with Svedka Vodka, St. Germain, citrus and ginger.

Always flowing at the bar at happy hour is a longtime Palm Beach favorite: Veuve Clicquot Champagne, which is $12 a glass at happy hour.

When it comes to happy hour food, raw bar items seem to rule, although stone crab claws, for one, are always market price.

Try the tuna tartare nachos with ginger, soy, avocado smash and mango; the gouda tater tots with garlic aioli; and Wagyu dumplings with charred kimchee cabbage and miso aioli.

Four hours: That’s how long the popular happy hour is at the seafood restaurant and raw bar PB Catch.

From 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. daily (except Sunday), there are 2-for-1 drinks and 2-for-1 oysters.

A special happy hour menu also offers “small bites” and “bigger bites.”

While Bloody Mary oyster shooters are $5 apiece, several other items are $6 each: among them, blue crab hushpuppies with buttermilk ranch dipping sauce; shrimp Rangoon with sweet chili sauce; and smoked house-made fish dip with pickled Fresno peppers, capers and red onion.

Bigger bites, starting at $23, include a Prime-grade beef burger with applewood-smoked bacon and cheddar, and a blackened mahi sandwich with tartar sauce and lettuce on a potato toll.

As far as the 2-for-1 oysters go, PB Catch offers a wide selection daily — from Blue Points to Malpeques and Wellfleets, to name a few.
