Orlando Bloom Opens Up About Struggles in Relationship with Katy Perry

'Pirates of the Caribbean' star Orlando Bloom reveals that he and Katy Perry often face conflict in their relationship.

The 47-year-old has been involved with Perry since 2016 and proposed three years later. The two share their soon-to-be four-year-old daughter, Daisy Dove.

While the two seem to be the perfect couple, Bloom has revealed that they are like any other couple and occasionally face conflict.

The 'Lord Of The Rings' actor reminisced about how he and Perry met and revealed not everything is always as perfect as it seems.

"[We] both meet each other with understanding where we came from, what we worked to do, what we had to do to get to where we got to," Bloom said on the podcast 'What Now? With Trevor Noah.' "[Perry] definitely demands that I evolve, right? And I feel I do the same for her. And that makes for fireworks, pardon the pun, but it also makes for a lot of fun and a lot of growth."

But, even with the conflict and opposing opinions on specific topics, Bloom says he "wouldn’t change it for anything."

"Even when sometimes it feels like 'How do we do this?' because we’ve got these two giant careers and lives and hers is even, you know, there’s even – it’s like a universe sometimes," the actor added.

The 47-year-old heartthrob first linked with Perry in 2016, a time that he will never forget.

"One of the things that I fell in love with Katy was, like, I didn’t really—she hates when I say this, so I have to word it carefully—but her music was everywhere, right?" he said on the podcast. When I came up, it was just on every radio station, but I wasn’t conscious of it —like, it wasn’t what I was listening to."

He added, "But I fell in love with Katheryn, this girl from Santa Barbara - and by the way, parents, pastors, living on food stamps. We’re not talking glamorous, Montecito."

The 'Last Friday Night' singer has previously opened up about her childhood, growing up in a poor family and sometimes needing to use food banks.

In a recent interview with The Guardian, Orlando Bloom revealed that he and Perry don't have sex "enough," but he noted, "We just had a baby, though."

The actor also said his four greatest loves are his son, Flynn, his daughter, Daisy Dove, his dog named Mighty, "And then, of course, my fiancée."

Unfortunately, Bloom recently lost Mighty after being "out of [his] sight for just seven minutes."

"He went out on an adventure and didn’t come back, and was taken by a coyote, I think," Bloom told the outlet. "It was awful, really painful; he taught me about love and loyalty, and how the connection between living beings can be."

Bloom chose none other than Valentine's Day to pop the question, planning an extravagant proposal.

“I got on a helicopter, and he asked me to marry him, and then we landed on this building and then went downstairs and my family and friends were there and the most flowers you’ve ever seen," she told Roman Kemp on his radio show 'Capital Breakfast with Roman Kemp' in June 2019.

"It’s like when Kanye does that for Kim, you’re like ‘Oh my god!’ and I was like ‘Oh my god!’ Anyways, it’s great. He’s great. I love him very much,” she added.

One year later, Perry announced she was pregnant. “I am excited. We’re excited and happy, and it’s probably the longest secret I’ve ever had to keep,” she said of the news, per the 'Today' show. “And I like to tell you guys everything, but I knew I would tell you in the best way, which is through a piece of music because that’s... I guess that’s how I speak to you. That’s how we speak together to each other.”
