SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Charlie Colin of the band Train has died after slipping in the shower, TMZ is reporting. Colin was the group’s bass player and helped found the band in San Francisco in the mid-1990s.

According to the TMZ report, Colin, 58, was in Brussels where he was teaching a music master class at the time of his death. The musician was reportedly house-sitting for a friend when he slipped and fell in the shower.

The publication, citing Colin’s mother, said it’s unclear when the fall occurred and that the musician’s body was found when his friends returned home five days ago.

Train, along with Colin, was originally comprised of frontman Pat Monahan, guitarists Rob Hotchkiss and Jimmy Stafford and drummer Scott Underwood. The band had a string of hits that included “Drops of Jupiter,” “Hey, Soul Sister,” and “Meet Virginia.”

The band has seen several lineup changes over the decades with Monahan currently the only original member. Colin left Train back in 2003 and went on to play with a number of other bands.
