Over 30 years ago, at the 1992 Winter Olympics, Kristi Yamaguchi did something monumental: She took home the gold in figure skating, making her the first Asian American woman to ever do so. Yamaguchi is truly an icon, and Mattel has only solidified that via her very own Barbie.

That’s right: Mattel just dropped a new celeb-inspired Barbie doll, this time celebrating Yamaguchi’s awesome achievement just ahead of AAPI Heritage Month. The new doll is seriously gorgeous, drawing on Yamaguchi’s look from that iconic 1992 Olympic performance, from her bold red lip to her ponytail with a heavy bangs moment in the front to her seriously gorgeous black-and-gold outfit. The doll can even hold a beautiful bouquet of white and red flowers.

Beyond that, this doll also has moveable joints so it can nail those figure skating poses. That’s assuming you even want to take it out of the packaging, though, since this doll makes for an amazing collectible you can admire or even pass down. Plus, the box itself is worth holding onto, since the back features a biography on Yamaguchi and notes her titles (“U.S. & World Champion Figure Skater, Author, Philanthropist”).

This doll is the latest addition to Mattel’s Barbie Inspiring Women Series, which includes dolls inspired by women like Madam C.J. Walker, Naomi Osaka, and Jane Goodall, along with eight others. Yamaguchi’s Barbie is the first one to be added to the line this year, which honestly feels perfect given that the 2024 Summer Olympics are just a few months away at this point.

If you’re hoping to score a Kristi Yamaguchi Barbie doll for yourself or as a sweet, inspiring gift for a loved one, you can pre-order it from Walmart for $35 right now.
