Olivia Culpo is grateful for her friends Kristin Juszczyk and Claire Kittle.

The 31-year-old model, who is engaged to San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey, tells PEOPLE she's very close with Kittle, 29, and Juszczyk, 30, and that she can "lean on" the women for support.

"I feel like we have a lot in common. We share the same experiences every week during the season." Culpo says of the women, whose husbands George Kittle and Kyle Juszczyk are McCaffrey's teammates on the 49ers.

"Claire and Kristin are my lifelines a lot of the time," Culpo continues.

"We lean on each other on a daily basis and I really appreciate them. They're great girls and the boys are also awesome, and it's a nice little group that we have."

Last month, the three couples vacationed together in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, after the NFL stars played in the 2024 Super Bowl.

The Kansas City Chiefs defeated the 49ers in the big game, but Culpo says the trip was "so much fun" for the group.

And surprisingly, the model says her highlight of the trip was golfing with her friends. "The girls love to play golf and I know Claire and Kristin are really good at golfing, so I know it sounds bizarre, but honestly, just all six of us on the golf course having a great time playing golf was my highlight."

"I never thought I would say that. I feel like I'm having an out-of-body experience right now because I'm not a golfer, but it was fun," Culpo says with a laugh.

It was easy for Culpo to make friends with the 49ers wives because of the organization's "sense of community," she says.

"We have such a great team and it's such an established team. The 49ers have been around forever and a lot of the people on the team have been there for a long time. To be honest with you, it's not like that on every team. A lot of teams have a lot of moving and shaking. So in that aspect, there's a really great grounded sense of community and I feel really fortunate because it's not always the case."

Culpo says she and McCaffrey have a "very playful relationship" when they're together and fans can see that side of the couple in a promotional video they filmed for their BODYARMOR "Zero to Hide" campaign.

"We make each other laugh a lot. We keep things light, so I definitely think that people are going to get a sense of that," she says of the spot.

"It's our first-ever campaign together, so it is new for our relationship. Obviously, we've been a fan of BODYARMOR for a long time and he's worked with them for a really long time, so I'm glad that we got to do something together with a brand that we really love."
