Nicole Richie is proud to show off her acting chops in “Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead.”

The 42-year-old plays Rose in the upcoming remake and told Access Hollywood at the Los Angeles premiere what she hopes fans will get out of it.

“I think that anyone who hasn’t seen the original, I’m hoping, will watch this and then watch the original because both are amazing,” she told Access Hollywood.

“The original is one of my all-time favorite movies,” she added. “You know the stories are different, this is a reimagined version of the film, but it is the same at its core in the sense that it’s a feel-good movie. If you want to be in a family and have a good time then this is the movie for you.”

“Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead” hits theaters April 12.
