Nicole Kidman posts throwback clip of first movie role, because nostalgia feels good in a place like this

The actress is set to receive the AFI Life Achievement Award, making her the first Aussie to get the honor.

Ahead of receiving the American Film Institute's Life Achievement Award, Nicole Kidman is looking back to where it all began.

The Oscar-winning actress, who will be the first Australian ever to receive the AFI honor, shared a clip on Instagram Tuesday from her very first film, 1983's Bush Christmas.

"This 14 year old girl could have never predicted all the talented people she would get to work with and the many different characters she would get to play," Kidman wrote in the caption. "So excited to celebrate with so many friends and peers on Saturday with the @AmericanFilmInstitute."

Kidman had her breakthrough role six years after Bush Christmas in 1989's Dead Calm, followed by 1990's Days of Thunder with her future husband Tom Cruise, which led to international recognition. Following her divorce from Cruise in 2001, Kidman went on to become a bona fide movie star with back-to-back roles in Moulin Rouge, The Others, and The Hours, for which she won the Best Actress Academy Award.

Throughout her career, Kidman has earned five Oscar nominations, two Emmy Awards, and the eternal devotion of homosexuals the world over for her now-iconic AMC Theatres ad.

Or, as AFI put it, "Both a powerhouse performer, spellbinding movie star and accomplished producer, Nicole Kidman has captured the imaginations of audiences throughout her prolific career, delivering complex and versatile performances onscreen."

The 56-year-old actress will receive the AFI Life Achievement Award on Saturday at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. The tribute will air on TNT and Turner Classic Movies at a later date.
