Nicola Coughlan Says She Made the Decision to be "Very Naked" in 'Bridgerton' Season 3

The first four episodes of Bridgerton Season 3 have been pretty mild when it comes to sex scenes (other than THE CARRIAGE SCENE, of course), but expect that to change when Netflix drops Part 2.

As anyone who's read Romancing Mister Bridgerton is well aware, Penelope and Colin have several verrrry passionate moments (including in front of a mirror)—and the show is going all out as usual. And Nicola Coughlan wouldn't have it any other way.

"I specifically asked for certain lines and moments to be included," the actor told Stylist (via People). "There’s one scene where I’m very naked on camera, and that was my idea, my choice."

"It just felt like the biggest ‘fuck you’ to all the conversation surrounding my body; it was amazingly empowering," she added. "I felt beautiful in the moment, and I thought: ‘When I’m 80, I want to look back on this and remember how fucking hot I looked!'"

Nicola added that she feels "great" about the nudity in Bridgerton Season 3 "because not only did I consent to it but I drove it."

So far, the chemistry between Colin and Penelope is off the charts. To the point where fans think they might be dating IRL, which nope. They certainly are not. Nicola confirmed this to Extra at the New York City premiere of Season 3, saying “We think it’s really sweet, I think because we truly love each other." She added that Colin actor Luke Newton is a “really special person in my life” and that “I’ll never get to do something like this again, on this scale. It’s so nice having such a lovely friend that I can do all this with.”
