Former Louisville commit Matt Colburn signs with Wake Forest

Matt Colburn Sr. Year Highlights
Matt Colburn, a former Louisville commit who was told just days before Signing Day that the Cardinals had no room for him, has signed with Wake Forest.

Colburn made the announcement at a school ceremony held on Wednesday. He selected Wake Forest over Marshall, Georgia Southern and Furman, all schools that jumped into his recruitment after Louisville jettisoned the 5-foot-9, 195-pound senior.

Playing under head coach Tom Knotts at Dutch Fork (Irmo, S.C.), Colburn enjoyed a huge senior season, rushing for 1,705 yards and 27 touchdowns.

In three years on the varsity squad, Colburn gained 5,438 yards on the ground and scored 87 rushing touchdowns.

Colburn previously committed to Louisville in the summer. When Louisville reportedly pulled his offer during the week of Signing Day, Knotts responded by prohibiting Louisville from recruiting Dutch Fork players in the future.
