Netflix's 'The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina' Releases First Official Trailer

The first official trailer for Netflix's The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is finally here, just in time for the year's spookiest month. And, wow, there's a lot to unpack before October 26, when the whole first season drops on the streaming platform.

The trailer introduces us to the town of Greendale (not too far away from the town of Riverdale, of course), a place that, Sabrina (Kiernan Shipka) explains, "always feels like Halloween." At first, Sabrina seems like a pretty normal 15-year-old girl — she galavants through the woods with her boyfriend, Harvey Kinkle (Ross Lynch), teases him about being scared in the woods, and dances around her house alone, as one does.

Then we find out Sabrina's first big problem: When she turns 16, she'll have to choose between "the witch world of her family and the human world of her friends." It appears that she'll try to have it both ways, since we see her undergo a seriously creepy dark baptism, in which she kneels in the woods and starts to sign her name in blood — until she stops and flees, whispering, "I can't do this."

Elsewhere, there are scary monsters, mean young witches, and someone who appears to be a teacher at school who breaks up an altercation between Sabrina and a mean girl: "Girls, girls, let's not be catty b*tches, hmm?" And ooh, is that another, non-Harvey love interest we see?

Oh, and Sabrina will also face a horned devil-type creature who emerges from a tree, in a decidedly Stranger Things-infused fashion. Near the end of the trailer, Sabrina declares, "I'm not an evil person, but these are desperate times." Annnd now we're more excited than ever for October 26.
