Fugaku Uchiha was greatly feared during the Third Great Ninja War. Shinobi from the Five Great Nations knew his name, Wicked Eye Fugaku. The anime and the manga claims that he witnessed the death of his close friend on the battlefield, which resulted in his Mangekyou Sharingan awakening. However, he decides to keep his powers a secret from his community. He believes that this will only breed more cruelty.

As the leader of the Uchiha clan, Fugaku was naturally responsible. He had to be aware of the clan’s best interest and the well-being of the members. He was often selfless and would respond to others’ needs before his own. Having inherited the Will of Fire, Fugaku was an extremely capable ninja. He was a patient, calculated, and wise man.

He was considered a genius and one of the strongest shinobi of his era. Enemies would tremble just from hearing his name being called on the battlefield during the Third Great Shinobi War. There were specific reasons as to why he was feared across every nation. His strength, abilities, and strategic mind were comparable to another beast that the hidden village of Konoha produced. His name was Minato Namikaze, the Yellow Flash of the Leaf. Fugaku was also one of the potential candidates for the position of Fourth Hokage.

He possessed an immense Chakra reserve. As a Uchiha, his affinity for Fire Release was strong. The Great Fireball Jutsu is the signature move of the Uchiha clan, and Fugaku was one of the handful of people who would perform this jutsu at an unbelievably large scale.

There has not been any mention of Fugaku having the Mangekyou Sharingan in the manga. However, in the Naruto Shippuden anime, it is said that he was the wielder of both Sharingan and the Mangekyo Sharingan. Although there is little known about the abilities of his Mangekyo Sharingan, it is said that he was capable of controlling the Nine-Tailed Fox with it.
