MTV and Umbro Take an Acid Trip Back to the '90s

MTV and Umbro have teamed up to celebrate the pioneering eras of the late '80s and early '90s, paying tribute to the days of acid house and '90s raves.

Tracing back to Umbro's home in Manchester, the new collaboration aims to offer the ultimate celebration of the working-class, through football fans, club culture and student style. Paying tribute to the oversized, baggy uniform of the rave scene, the collection merges Umbro's casualwear heritage with MTV's rich history of pioneering pop culture through sports-inspired silhouettes with a twist.

Forming part of their existing "Second Summer of Love" collection, the new offering sees genderless silhouettes crafted with shell suit-inspired nylon, warped all-over checkerboard prints and a fusion Umbro and MTV logo. Featuring coach jackets, football jerseys, track pants and graphic T-shirts, the collection also includes a series of footwear and accessories -- including bucket hats, caps and the Copley "Checkerboard" Sneaker.

To celebrate the collection, Umbro and MTV tapped Manchester-based band, Porij to star in a nostalgia-infused campaign spotlighting the collaboration's hero styles.
