'Mr. And Mrs. Smith' Renewed for Season 2, Co-Stars Donald Glover and Maya Erskine Reportedly Not Returning

Amazon Prime Video's Mr. and Mrs. Smith has officially been renewed for season two. While the first season saw Donald Glover and Maya Erskine star in the show, the duo are not returning for the upcoming season.

Variety has learned that Glover is will still be credited as the co-creator of the show and will serve as the executive producer with Francesca Sloane, who is returning as the show runner. With a newly launched album, Glover recently announced that he will be going on tour as Childish Gambino starting in August of this year, through till February 2025.

In the official statement of the show's renewal, Amazon MGM Studios' Jennifer Salke said, "We are excited to announce that a second season of our groundbreaking spy series, Mr. and Mrs. Smith

The official description of the series reads, "In the first season of Mr. & Mrs. Smith, two lonely strangers land jobs working for a mysterious spy agency that offers them a glorious life of espionage, wealth, world travels, and a dream brownstone in Manhattan. The catch? New identities in an arranged marriage as Mr. and Mrs. John and Jane Smith. Now hitched, John and Jane navigate a high-risk mission every week while also facing a new relationship milestone. Their complex cover story becomes even more complicated when they catch real feelings for each other. What's riskier: espionage or marriage?"
