A recent study of NFL cheerleading teams’ popularity revealed that the Miami Dolphins cheerleading team is almost as social media famous as the Cowboys’ cheer team.
Online sportsbook Betway analyzed the amount of Instagram posts, TikTok posts, and the number of Instagram followers for each of the NFL cheerleading squads to make a list of the top 10 most popular cheer teams in the NFL.
Here’s where the Miami Dolphins’ cheer team ranked and the nine other NFL cheer squads that made Betway’s fan-favorites list.
What is the most popular NFL cheer team?
The most popular cheer team on the list may have less social media followers than the others, but that’s because Betway determined the final rankings by which team is the most popular for their respective leagues on social media.
According to Betway’s rankings, the most popular NFL cheerleading team on social media are the Cincinnati Bengals cheerleaders, the “Ben-Gals.”
The Dallas Cowboys’ cheer team ranked in second and the Miami Dolphins cheerleaders rounded out the top 3.

What are the Miami Dolphins cheerleaders called?
The Miami Dolphins cheerleaders have been around since the founding of the football team in 1966 and were originally nicknamed the “Dolphins Dolls.”
From the late ‘70s until 1983, the Dolphins cheerleaders were known as “The Starbrites,” because of a sponsorship with Starbrite Car Polish.
Now, the Dolphins cheer team is simply called the “Miami Dolphins Cheerleaders.”
How old do you have to be to be a Miami Dolphins cheerleader?
Registration is now open to apply to audition for the Miami Dolphins cheerleading team. To audition, you have to be at least 18 years old, according to the audition requirements for the team.
