Montana tavern axes Donald Trump Jr. and Kimberly Guilfoyle political rally: 'That's just not who we are'

Donald Trump Jr. and girlfriend Kimberly Guilfoyle are going to have to rally somewhere else.

The president’s eldest son and the former Fox News personality were denied permission to hold a political event for Republican U.S. Senate candidate Matt Rosendale at Midtown Tavern in Bozeman, Mont., next Tuesday. After learning of the event, the restaurant pulled the plug on the rally, citing “a miscommunication.”

The Rosendale campaign announced this week that the pair would speak at the bar, much to the surprise of the restaurant’s manager, Jeff Wilcox, who told the Bozeman Daily Chronicle that no such event would be taking place there.

“We definitely don’t want to take political sides. That’s never our intention,” Wilcox said, adding that he hadn’t even known the rally was booked there until he saw the announcement.

“That’s just not who we are. We just try to stay politically neutral,” he explained. “We’re a restaurant.”

Wilcox said he was reaching out to Rosendale’s team to clear things up. The Rosendale campaign said it is now looking for another venue to accommodate the 200 people who reserved tickets for the event at the tavern.

Trump Jr. and the former host of The Five haven’t commented on the change of venue. The pair made their relationship Instagram official with a romantic trip to Billings over the summer.
