Mom of Teen Rapper Speaks Out After He Died of ‘Self-Inflicted Gunshot Wound’: 'I Just Want My Baby Back'
Based on a preliminary investigation, the Suffolk Police Department say the shooting may have been accidental

Raleigh Freeman IIIThe mother of a 17-year-old Virginia boy, known on social media as rapper Rylo Huncho, is speaking out after her son died shortly after he was seen on video holding a gun.
The Suffolk Police Department told PEOPLE on Tuesday, May 21, that the incident took place on May 15 at approximately 10:11 p.m. and "involved a self-inflicted gunshot wound." Although police have not named the teen, who died at a local hospital, he was identified by family members as Raleigh Freeman III.
"The preliminary investigation conducted by the Suffolk Police Department indicates that this incident may have been accidental in nature," officials said, noting that the investigation is ongoing.
“I just want my baby back. That’s all I want," mom Monica Savage told ABC affiliate WVEC. "I miss my baby.”

According to WVEC and NBC affiliate WAVY, minutes before his mother came home to discover her son on the floor, he was seen in a social media video holding a gun, pointing it at himself and pulling the trigger.
“I didn’t know he had a gun,” his mom told the outlet. “When I came in the house, I saw him in his own blood and I ran...trying to save my son’s life.”

Speaking with WVEC, his mom said that her son had "some nice songs" and was a good rapper.

A GoFundMe campaign was launched by his family to help Savage, which has raised nearly $6,000 as of Wednesday, May 22.
"He was her only son," the organizer said on the fundraising page. "She was a single parent but took care of [him] the best she could."
A celebration of life and a funeral will be held on Friday, May 24, according to his obituary.
