Top Gun: Maverick is predictably killing it at the box office, leaving fans buzzing endlessly about the two-hour flick. But perhaps no moment has received as much attention as a blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment featuring a shirtless and sunglasses-clad Miles Teller.

A clip of the 35-year-old actor dancing shirtless while on the beach is without a doubt the single most viral moment to come out of the Top Gun reboot. It's a moment that literally lasts for less than a second during a sunset football montage. Regardless, fans adore the light-hearted celebratory boogie Teller does while playing football in the sand.

But capturing the dance on film was a total accident

In a recent interview with Extra, Teller talked about the split-second clip going viral on social media. Telller, who plays Rooster in the film, says he didn't even expect the moment to make the film, calling it a “nice surprise” when his impromptu dance was in the final cut.

“That’s really a dance that like me and my buddies have kind of done when everybody’s dancing very seriously. It was just always something we would do to kind of just break the ice a little bit," Teller told Extra. "I didn’t even know that the camera was on me at that point.”

Thankfully, the camera's were rolling, leading to the now-iconic moment becoming forever preserved on film.
