Meghan McCain goes after ‘pathetic’ Trump: ‘He will never be a great man’

On The View Monday, Meghan McCain reacted to President Donald Trump after he attacked her father, John McCain, during a weekend Twitter rant. Trump went after John McCain for his ties to ties to the controversial Russia dossier, and his vote against repealing Obamacare. And Megan McCain later sent a tweet of her own.

And after being applauded for that response by her fellow View co-hosts, Meghan expanded on those thoughts. “He spends his weekend obsessing over great men because he knows it and I know it and all of you know it, he will never be a great man. My father was his kryptonite in life, he’s his kryptonite in death,” Meghan said. “And I just thought, ‘your life is spent on your weekends not with your family, not with your friends but obsessing, obsessing, over great men you could never live up.’ That tells you everything you needed to know about his pathetic life right now.” Some viewers on Twitter applauded Meghan’s response and thought she said it perfectly.

But others didn’t seem to buying her attacks on Trump, and think she’ll be back to defending many of his actions and policies before you know it.

To finish her thoughts on Trump’s attacks, Meghan said that she genuinely feels bad for his family.“I can't imagine having a father that does this on the weekend,” she said, with Joy Behar replying: “Oh, they're all on the same page. Don't feel sorry for them.”The View airs weekdays at 11 a.m. on ABC.Watch what happened when Whoopi Goldberg made a surprise return to The View:
