Meghan McCain joined Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen Monday night where she spoke about how her father, the late Sen. John McCain, might have reacted to the siege on the Capitol last Wednesday when hundreds of President Trump’s supporters stormed the building in an attempt to overturn the election.

“If he were alive, this would have killed him,” McCain said. “I think he would have — I think it actually would have killed him.”

On The View the morning after the storming of the Capitol, McCain made clear how she felt about the rioters, calling them the scum of the earth and calling for Republicans to invoke the 25th Amendment, which would remove Trump from office. On Monday, she told Cohen what it was like watching as events at the Capitol unfolded.

“I was so emotional watching. I was absolutely apoplectic. I was hysterically crying for almost a full 24 hours. I was crying before I went on The View to talk about it,” McCain said. “I can't even express — I'm still sort of processing feelings as I think all Americans are. What has been done, I don't think can be undone for generations.”

House Democrats have moved to impeach Trump for an unprecedented second time for inciting insurrection at the Capitol, a move many Republicans have denounced. But McCain and her fellow conservative, CNN’s S.E. Cupp, who was also on the show, are all for it.

“Do you both think that the president should be impeached?” Cohen asked. “Yes,” McCain replied. Cupp expanded on that answer, saying, “Yep, like, yesterday. Impeached for impeachable offenses or the 25th Amendment removal, because he’s unfit for office and has been for some time. Get him out. Get him out now.”

Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen airs Sun-Thurs on Bravo.
