Meghan McCain calls out 'pathetic' Trump: 'He will never be a great man'

On The View Monday, Meghan McCain reacted to President Trump’s weekend Twitter attack on her father, John McCain.

Trump went after the late senator, who died in August, for his ties to the controversial Russia dossier and his vote against repealing Obamacare.

Hours later, the talk show host responded.

After being applauded by her fellow View co-hosts for sending the tweet, Meghan expanded on those thoughts.

“He spends his weekend obsessing over great men because he knows it and I know it and all of you know it, he will never be a great man. My father was his kryptonite in life, he’s his kryptonite in death,” she said. “And I just thought, ‘Your life is spent on your weekends not with your family, not with your friends but obsessing, obsessing, over great men you could never live up to.’ That tells you everything you needed to know about his pathetic life right now.”

Some viewers on Twitter applauded Meghan.

But others weren’t buying her attacks on Trump and think she’ll be back to defending many of his actions and policies in no time.

Meghan also said that she genuinely feels bad for Trump’s family.

“I can’t imagine having a father that does this on the weekends,” she said, to which co-hose Joy Behar replied: “Oh, they’re all on the same page. Don’t feel sorry for them.”

The View airs weekdays at 11 a.m. on ABC.
