Megan Thee Stallion's Vintage Waves Are Giving Marilyn Monroe

The Tina Snow singer put a glam twist on the Millennial side part, proving that the side part can actually be very chic. You’ll just have to see it for yourself.

On April 17, the 29-year-old singer attended Planned Parenthood of Great New York’s Spring Into Action Gala, where she was honored with the Catalyst for Change Award for her advocacy for women’s rights. On the same night, she posted photos of her look on Instagram, showcasing her sleek Versace LBD styled by Eric Archibald.

Of course, we have to talk about the side part. Her hair was styled in glossy waves parted to the left, courtesy of stylist Kellon Deryck, and resembled Marilyn Monroe's signature style. She tucked the other side of her hair back behind her ear and the waves hugged her face, stopping right at her shoulders. We'd wager Stallion's look was inspired by old Hollywood glamour—the outfit felt retro-inspired yet modern. Lorvida, her makeup artist, opted for a gradient matte red lip lined with brown liner that created a shadow effect. Her eyeshadow gave the eye a lifted effect with a darker crease and nude on the lid.

Another thing that caught our eye? Her patent leather nails, a look that Anya Taylor-Joy just wore while out and about in New York. The glossy black mai resembles shiny patent leather, and while the manicure is often more popular in the cooler months, it’s been popping up among celebrities as the weather gets warmer.

While accepting her award at the gala, Stallion commented on how she would continue using her platform for good. “We need to create communities where women can receive sexual and reproductive health care with the love, respect and compassion that they deserve," she said. "I promise to continue to do my part and use my platform to break down barriers and empower women all around the world."
