Meet Lace Charms, the Bling Your Sneakers Deserve

Sneaker embellishments are a key trend we've spotlighted in the footwear world, amidst an uptick in lace locks and charms adorning footwear favorites from Nike to Adidas. Luckily, LA-based brand Lace Charms has you covered offering a range of lace tips, sneaker chains and shoelaces.

On the heels of a back surgery and a future without stilettos, Lace Charms founder Emilin Yag was determined to bring charm to every day kicks while maintaining self-expression through her footwear. Seeing a gap in the market, the founder set out to make glamor and comfort affordably co-exist. Since then, Lace Charms has garnered success across industries, gracing the feet of female sneakerheads and securing a spot on HBO's Bel-Air.

When we asked Yag about her inspirations and favorite sneaker of all time, of course, it was a Hypebae favorite. "Air Jordan I Mid 'Fearless' by Melody Eshani. The shoe is a masterpiece. If I go back to grad school, I'll be writing my thesis on the genius of this sneaker art." She adds, "Melody Eshani is a major influence; not only is she one of the most prominent women in sneaker culture, but our backgrounds are very similar. Both of our families escaped Iran and moved to Los Angeles and I spent much of my adolescence on Melrose and Fairfax, the heart of LA sneaker culture - where Melody opened her first retail location. She's constantly pushing boundaries, from being the first (Iranian) woman to open a streetwear brand on Fairfax to adding watch-face charm to her iconic Jordan 1's."
