Mauricio Umansky has “no bad blood” with the Hilton family.

The Buying Beverly Hills star spoke about his decision to leave Rick Hilton's Hilton & Hyland for his own real estate company, The Agency, in a preview for season 2 of the Netflix show. Umansky's niece Paris Hilton then slammed Umansky for "using the Hilton name" to plug his show — and now, Umansky, 53, is responding.

"Look, it's sad that she got so upset about that, but at the end of the day, it's two businessmen making two business decisions," he told Entertainment Tonight on Monday.

In the teaser for the upcoming season of Buying Beverly Hills, Umansky explained a bit about why he stepped away from the firm to start his own in 2011. He put it bluntly, claiming he "got kind of f–-ed by Hilton & Hyland" by not being made a partner.

"I felt like I deserved something," Umansky now tells ET. "I asked for something, he didn’t want to do it, and then I chose to go off on my own. I wanted to take care of my family, I wanted to be successful, I wanted to go forward, I wanted to do the most I could, and at the end of the day, I made that decision just to go forward with this thing. There is certainly no bad blood on my side."

Umansky is the estranged husband of Kyle Richards, who is the half sister of Paris’s mom, Kathy Hilton.

On Tuesday, Paris, 43, responded to the teaser on social media.

“My father is a consummate gentleman and has always taken the higher road. He would never speak negatively about his family- especially in the press," Paris wrote in a since-deleted comment on a @queensofbravo post. "Frankly we are all sick of him using the Hilton name every chance he gets to plug his lame show."

Umansky also said in the trailer that Richards, 55, was "100% percent supportive" of his decision to leave the firm.

"I am Rick's brother-in-law, but unfortunately, it got sour because it really affected the family, Kyle more than anybody... She stood by me, and at the end of the day, I needed that," he said.

Richards will appear in Buying Beverly Hills season 2, PEOPLE previously reported. The couple separated following 27 years of marriage in July 2023. Another trailer appears to show the moment the couple broke the news to their daughters that they were separating.

Buying Beverly Hills season 2 premieres March 22 on Netflix.
