Mariska Hargitay Knew Christopher Meloni Was ‘The Guy’ During ‘Law & Order: SVU’ Audition

Mariska Hargitay is looking back at her time on “Law & Order: SVU” and the impact it’s had on her life. “When I was a little girl, my dream was, even before I wanted to be an actor, was to inspire,” she told Access Hollywood’s Scott Evans. “The fact that I was lucky enough to build and create this character into what she is now has been, besides my children and my husband, just the gift of my life,” she added. During the candid interview at Universal Studios Hollywood’s backlot, Mariska also looked back at the moment she met her on-screen partner, Christopher Meloni. “For the third audition we were paired up, there were three men and three women, and I saw Chris Meloni and I went, that’s the guy,” she said.
