The final vote is in and Brevard County has crowned a new King of the Slice.

After four weeks and four straight wins, FLORIDA TODAY readers have declared Genna Pizza Company in Melbourne the Best Pizza in Brevard.

Genna fans served it up hot for the tournament's final week, giving the Melbourne eatery just shy of 67% of the vote against the other finalist in our March Madness Pizza edition bracket, Rockledge favorite Brooklyn Pizza and Pasta.

Competition on the path to the finals was fierce, but Genna Pizza Company emerged as an early favorite among the 16 most popular pizza joints as decided by our 321 Flavor: Where Brevard Eats Facebook group, overwhelming its challengers by more than 2-to-1 in each of four head-to-head matchups.

Commenters raved about Genna's coal-fired pizza, its toppings and friendly staff they said made dining there feel like home.

"Genna Pizza Company in Melbourne is the best. Coal fired ovens, fresh ingredients, fantastic flavor and delicious options," wrote Meridith Long Scherer. "They go out of their way to make you feel welcome and at home like friends."

"It's like hanging with family," Suzette Eisenlohr wrote.
