March Madness Music Festival 2024: See Jonas Brothers and more for free in Phoenix

The NCAA March Madness Music Festival comes to downtown Phoenix on Friday, April 5, for three days of music and fun at Margaret T. Hance Park. It's a free celebration of the 2024 Division I Men’s Final Four, which will be played April 6-8 at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.

In 2017, the March Madness Music Festival brought AerosmithKeith Urban, Macklemore and Blink-182 to Phoenix.

Artists who have played the festival through the years include Rihanna, Lil Nas X, Imagine Dragons, Katy Perry, Zac Brown Band, Weezer, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, fun., Tim McGraw, the Killers, LL Cool J, Sting, Dave Matthews Band, Muse, Kings of Leon, Jimmy Buffett, KISS, Kenny Chesney, Kendrick Lamar, Fall Out Boy, Twenty-One Pilots and Pitbull.

Where is the March Madness Music Festival?

The 2024 March Madness Music Festival is at Margaret T. Hance Park, 67 W. Culver St. in downtown Phoenix. Access to the festival is on the west side of the park, so arriving via Third Avenue or Central Avenue is best.

When is the March Madness Music Festival in Phoenix?

The March Madness Music Festival runs 4:30-10 p.m. Friday, April 5; 3-9 p.m. Saturday, April 6; and 2:30-10 p.m. Sunday, April 7.

March Madness Music Festival 2024 tickets: Is the festival free?

The March Madness Music Festival 2024 is free and you don't need a ticket. It's general admission: There are no reserved seats or VIP packages for sale.

How to get into the March Madness Music Festival

Plan to arrive early because the park will stop admitting people once capacity is reached. Fans may start lining up at 7 a.m. each morning at the designated fan entry on the west side of Hance Park.

Seating on the grass is first come, first served. Folding chairs, stools, seating devices of any type and blankets are prohibited.

There is no overnight camping.

What's prohibited at March Madness Music Festival?

The following items are prohibited:

  • Animals (except service animals).

  • Noisemaking devices of any kind.

  • Purses, bags or containers larger than a small clutch bag; coolers; briefcases; backpacks; fanny packs; cinch bags; luggage of any kind; computer bags; camera bags.

  • Balls or any object that can be used as a projectile.

  • Cameras with professional lenses longer than 3 inches, GoPros, video recorders and mono/tripods.

  • Smoking, e-cigarettes or vapes.

  • Outside food and beverage and containers of any kind (except for guests with medical anddietary needs). There is a water filling station near the festival entry.

  • Fireworks or weapons of any kind.

  • Folding chairs, stools or other seating devices.

  • Illegal substances.

  • Laser pointers.

  • Poles or sticks of any kind, including selfie sticks.

  • Signs or flags larger than 3 feet by 2 feet.

  • Unmanned aircraft systems/radio-controlled model aircraft.

  • Segways, skateboards and hoverboards.

  • Any item determined by event management to be dangerous or inappropriate.

  • Personal carts, wagons or other large rolling devices. (Simple strollers are allowed.)

Parking at March Madness Music Festival

Parking near Hance Park is limited. Downtown parking garages and surface lots will fill quickly. You can reserve parking in advance at space.aceparking.com/ncaafinalfour.

Festival organizers recommend public transportation, biking (there will be a designated bike parking area), walking or using Uber or Lyft.

Valley Metro light rail stops at McDowell/Central Avenue and Roosevelt/Central Avenue are within walking distance of Hance Park. Rides cost $2 each online or at kiosks at each stop. Get more information at valleymetro.org.

Directions to Hance Park

From Sky Harbor Boulevard: Merge onto Interstate 10 west to downtown Phoenix. Take Exit 148 for Jefferson Street and go north toward Washington Street. Turn left onto Washington Street and head west to downtown.

From the North Valley: Take I-17 south to Exit 199B for Jefferson Street. Turn left onto Jefferson Street and head east to downtown. Or take I-17 south to Exit 200A toward central Phoenix. Merge onto I-10 east. Take Exit 144A for Seventh Avenue. Turn right onto Seventh Avenue and head south to downtown.

From Paradise Valley or Scottsdale: Take State Route 51 south and merge onto I-10 west. Take Exit 145A for Seventh Street. Turn left onto Seventh Street and head south to downtown.

From the South Valley: Take Baseline Road or Broadway Road and head north on Seventh Avenue or Seventh Street to downtown.

From the West Valley: Take I-10 east to Exit 144A for Seventh Avenue. Turn right on Seventh Avenue and head south to downtown. Or take the Loop 101 south and merge onto I-10 east. Take Exit 144A for Seventh Avenue. Turn right on Seventh Avenue and head south to downtown.

From the East Valley: Take I-10 west to Exit 148 for Jefferson Street. Head north toward Washington Street. Turn left onto Washington Street and head west to downtown. Or take U.S. 60 west and merge onto I-10 west. Take Exit 145A for Seventh Street. Turn left on Seventh Street and head south to downtown. March Madness Music Festival bag policy

Bags larger than 5.5 inches by 8.5 inches are prohibited. Clear plastic bags up to 12 inches by 6 inches by 12 inches are permitted.

All individuals and bags are subject to a search upon entry. Failure to comply will result in denial of entry.

What is the reentry policy?

Reentry is not guaranteed. If you leave and come back, you'll have to wait in line to get back in.

Food and drinks at March Madness Music Festival

You can purchase food, soft drinks, beer, wine and seltzer from a variety of local food trucks and concession stands. There also will be a Pizza Hut Mobile Kitchen.

You can bring in one factory-sealed bottle of water, 20 ounces or less, or an empty water bottle. Other outside food and beverages are not permitted. Exceptions will be made for guests with medical and dietary needs.

The festival is cashless. Credit cards, debit cards, Apple Pay and similar payment methods will be accepted.

First aid at Hance Park

Medical tents are located inside the main entry and next to the stage. Medical staff will also be roaming the festival grounds.

Can I charge my phone at Hance Park?

Charging stations provided by AT&T will be available near the information tent and cantina and in the AT&T footprint.

What is the smoking policy?

The use of tobacco products is not permitted in the festival or any Phoenix park. This includes vape pens, cigarettes and chewing tobacco.

Can I rent a locker?

Lockers will not be available.
