Mandy Moore celebrated her birthday with a 'Wild Wild Country'–inspired girls trip

During her recent girls weekend, Mandy Moore had guests wear clothes inspired by the cult at the center of Netflix's docuseries 'Wild Wild Country.'

For her thirty-fourth birthday, Mandy Moore celebrated with a weekend getaway with friends in Big Sur, California, one of the most beautiful places in the country, full stop. The group's scenic surroundings were made even more beautiful by their colorful outfits in warm shades of red and orange. There's a reason for this coordinated color palette beyond aesthetics, though: The party's dress code was inspired by Wild Wild Country, the new and wildly popular Netflix docuseries about the Rajneeshees (a cult that dressed in warm-toned monochromatic looks).

Photos Moore posted to Instagram show her guests wearing the red and orange ensembles:

Moore confirmed Wild Wild Country was the inspiration behind their clothes in the caption: "Yes, our color palette was inspired by Rajneeshpuram," reads a hashtag. The Cut also notes Moore recently professed her love of the cult's style by sharing a screenshot of the story “I Want This Cult’s Look” to Instagram Stories with the caption, “Same." Check out the group for yourself in the photos below.

Outfits aside, Moore's weekend seemed like a blast. When she and her friends weren't snapping photos in their red threads, they enjoyed time in the forest, drank wine, and ate cake. "We lived our best lives and I’m left blown away by my friends and our good fortune to be able to share these moments together," Moore wrote in one of her captions, above.

This Is Us fans will probably notice that Moore's costar Susan Kelechi Watson is in some of these pics too. So thanks, Watson and Moore, for subtly reminding us the show is on hiatus and we have nothing but reruns to cry over until the fall. Hey, at least that gives you a chance to catch up on Wild Wild Country in the meantime.
