Mammootty’s Turbo Release Date Moved Up
Megastar Mammootty’s upcoming action-comedy film, Turbo, is all set to make its theatrical debut. Recently, the lead actor confirmed that the movie will hit the silver screen sooner than expected. Fans are eagerly anticipating Mammootty’s return to action with this film.

Directed by Vysakh, Turbo was initially scheduled to release on June 13, 2024. This film marks the third collaboration between Mammootty and director Vysakh after Pokkiri Raja and Madhu Raja. The film’s cast includes Anjana Jayaprakash and Alexander Prasanth in significant roles. Christo Xavier composed the music, Vishnu Sarma served as the cinematographer, and Shameer Muhammed handled editing duties. Turbo is penned by Midhun Manuel Thomas and produced under the banner of Mammootty Kampany. Notably, Manmootty’s son Dulquer Salmaan’s production house has taken over the distribution responsibilities.

Just a few hours ago, Mammooty made an exciting announcement regarding the release date of Turbo. The film is scheduled to hit theaters worldwide on May 23, 2024. He wrote, “Turbo In Cinemas Worldwide on May 23, 2024.” The poster depicts Mammootty in action mode, activating Turbo Mode with an object, setting the stage for an exhilarating cinematic experience.

According to the Indian Express, several reports indicated that Turbo is a sequel to Mammootty’s Kottayam Kujachan released in 1990. Additionally, its title might be Adi Pidi Jose. However, in an interview with Asianet News, the actor debunked all these claims. He clarified, “Adi Pidi Jose is not the title of the film, and neither does it have any connection with the character I played in Kottayam Kunjachan.”
In addition to Turbo, Mammootty was recently seen in the black-and-white horror drama Bramayugam, which premiered on February 15, 2024. The film significantly impacted the box office, emerging as the 5th highest-grossing Malayalam film of the year.
With anticipation building up for Turbo’s release, it remains to be seen whether the film will also leave a lasting impression on box office collections.
