Malcolm-Jamal Warner Lands Recurring Role On ‘9-1-1’

Malcolm-Jamal Warner has a new role. The actor is set to star as a recurring character on 9-1-1, making an appearance in four upcoming episodes of the drama series.

According to Deadline, the 53-year-old will lead as Amir, a nurse in a hospital burn unit who is connected to another character’s past. Currently in its seventh season, this is the first that 9-1-1 airs on ABC, after previously being broadcast on Fox and canceled last year.

The season seven premiere garnered an audience of 11.76M total viewers within the first seven days, and is currently ABC’s most-watched current series across all platforms this season, according to the outlet.

9-1-1 explores the high-pressure experiences of first responders — including police officers, firefighters, and dispatchers — who are thrust into the most frightening, shocking, and heart-stopping situations, per ABC Press.

Created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, and Tim Minear, 9-1-1 stars Angela Bassett as Athena Grant, Peter Krause as Bobby Nash, Jennifer Love Hewitt as Maddie Buckley, Oliver Stark as Evan “Buck” Buckley, Kenneth Choi as Howie “Chimney” Han, Aisha Hinds as Henrietta “Hen” Wilson, Ryan Guzman as Eddie Diaz, and Gavin McHugh as Christopher Diaz.
